A Scholarship Program was established in 2003 by the university to support the development of innovative research through the contribution of highly qualified doctoral students to the University. Through a 3-year curriculum, the University provides a comprehensive education in a multidisciplinary environment. Every year, Kochi University Of Technology enrolls about 15 selected doctoral students to work on specific research projects. Each student pursues a doctoral course in English and also assists their host professor with their research projects and receives a monthly payment for their contributions to the projects. This program is intended for those who intend to engage in its research projects for the full three years and acquire in-depth knowledge and skills and the ability to become full-fledged researchers and fulfill the degree requirements according to their desire.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
- Recommendation from the project leader of the Student.
- The age of the applicant is 35 years.
- Must complete 18 years of education at the time of application.
- Having high scores in M.Sc or BS and M.Phill Or MS degrees from reputable universities
- Highly motivated and also have some Knowledge of the research project
- Very good English proficiency and communication.

- Signed pre-application request
- Originalmaster’s degree and bachelor’s degree academic transcript after confirmation of admission.

- The motivational letter or Statement of purpose.
- Study planner Research Proposal for the programs Master and Ph.D.
- Two Recommendation Letters.
- English Proficiency Certificate from the last institute.
- ILETS or TOFEL.

- Select a research project from the SSP Research Project list.
- Submit a completed online pre-application application to the leader of your preferred project through the KUT online pre-application application form and obtain the leader’s permission to apply for this SSP project.
- Only one pre-application request should be sent to a project leader during a given enrollment period.
- Please note that the project leader cannot contact you in the event that your previous application has been rejected.
- After you get permission from the project leader, complete all required documents and submit them to KUT by mail. Documents must reach KUT by the deadline.
