- The applicant must be enrolled in or have been offered admission by ANU.
- Must be having Bachelor’s degree with first-class honors

To be considered for an ANU Ph.D. scholarship, in the main period of scholarship offers: International students need to apply for admission by 15 April or 31 August. Domestic students must apply for admission by April 15 or October 31. Applications must be complete at the time of submission, including all supporting documents and referee reports, to be considered in the scholarship ranking process. Your referees must send their reports before your scholarship deadline. Give them as much time as possible by completing your ANU application 2-3 weeks before the scholarship deadline. We will contact your referees upon receipt of your application.
Applicants are also strongly encouraged to contact the relevant graduate studies convenor or a potential supervisor to discuss the proposed research topic and related issues before submitting the application.
