The China Scholarship Council (CSC), delegated by the Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China, is responsible for the enrollment and administration of the Chinese government’s scholarship program. Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship for Undergraduate/Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate/Ph.D. programs in their respective fields of study. Chinese Government Scholarship Program Offered:
HEC Chinese Government Scholarship 2023-24 | Fully Funded sponsors international students, teachers, and scholars to pursue degree studies in undergraduate, master, and Ph.D. including one year of Chinese language preparation in some degree programs.
Chinese Government Scholarship 2023 Benefits Offered:
- Tuition funds. Tuition funds will be utilized comprehensively by the host university. This may include tuition, administration costs, health insurance, and support costs for student activities.
- Accommodation: Free university hostel or accommodation subsidy to each awardee.
- Scholarship: Scholarship program according to the Chinese government.
- Undergraduate students: CNY 2,500 per month (minimum)
- Masters students: CNY 3,000 per month (minimum)

HEC China Scholarship Program Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be citizens of Pakistan/AJ&K. Dual nationals are not eligible to apply.
Applicants should be in good health. - Applicants with incomplete degrees on the application deadline are not permitted to apply.
- Applicants for the Undergraduate/Bachelors program must have Intermediate/A-level/FA-FSC (12 years) education and must be below 25 years of age at the time of application.
- Applicants for the Master’s program must have a bachelor’s degree (16 years) and must be under 35 years of age at the time of application.
- Applicants for Ph.D./Doctoral program must have a Master’s degree MS/MPhil (17/18 years) and be below 40 years of age at the time of application.
- Complete the application requirement prescribed on the China Scholarship Council website and portal.
- Meet the admission requirements of applied universities in terms of academic qualifications, language skills, and other relevant criteria.
- Applicants may not be currently in receipt of any other type of scholarship.
- All applicants are required to provide HAT or USAT test scores. Applicant must have scored at least 50 out of 100 on the HAT or USAT test. Applicants who have given the HAT or USAT test on or after 01 January 2022 can upload the test result on the HEC portal for consideration. Without providing a minimum HAT or USAT test score (50 out of 100), applications will not be considered for further processing. Documents Needed for Apply:
Approach applicants are not required to submit any documents (hard copies) to HEC at this stage of the application process. Only shortlisted candidates will need to submit the following documents in English or Chinese. In case of any other language, the document must be accompanied by a notarized translation in English or Chinese. To avoid any inconvenience later, approach applicants are directed to prepare the application dossier as detailed below.
- Copy of application form signed by HEC in separate spiral binding. No other documents shall be attached to the HEC application form.
- Copy of signed application form of CSC application portal with the following document;
- Attested copies of all educational documents, a photocopy of CNIC/B-form, domicile, IBCC equivalency certificate (if applicable), and HEC equivalency if applicable.
- Study plan or research proposal (200 words for Bachelor, 800 words for Master and Ph.D.), copies of any research publications and achievements (Ph.D. only), language proficiency certificate or IELTS/TOEFL/HSK Score (where applicable), copy of valid ordinary passport (first two pages) till 01 March 2024.
- Photocopy of physical examination records for foreigners (attached) must be completed in English. (The original copy must be with the applicant.) - Non-criminal record (Police Clearance Certificate) not older than six months from the last date of application.
Forms with incomplete records or signatures of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are invalid. Please choose a suitable time for a physical examination as the result is valid only for 6 months. - If available, apply to target universities for the pre-admission letter (optional) for Master and Ph.D. before submitting an online application. HEC/CSC cannot guarantee your admission to the target university if no notice is received from the applicant prior to admission. - Apply Online: http://scholarship.hec.gov.pk/ After registering and filling out your profile, please select “Study Abroad Opportunities”. After submitting the application, obtain a printed copy for the signature of the applicant.
- Before applying, please update your HEC profile with the latest email/cell number and the latest information.
- After successful submission of the application on the HEC portal, keep your signed printed application form with you.
- Submit an online application through the CSC web portal http://www.campuschina.org/ or http://www.csc.edu.cn Program Type: A and Agency Number 5861. Download the submitted copy of the completed application form from the Chinese Scholarship Council portal, and print and keep the signed copy with you.
