Mechanism of Action of Lorazepam Ativan Tablets:
Lorazepam voluntarily binds to benzodiazepine receptors in the post-synaptic channel GABA-A ligand-gated chloride in various areas of the central nervous system (CNS). This combination will lead to an increase in the inhibitory effects of GABA which is interpreted as an increase in the flow of chloride ions in the cell causing hyperpolarization and stabilization in the plasma membrane of cell.
